About Me
Hello I am Keane, a curious full-stack engineer who loves to learn and build scalable, end-to-end web applications. My passion lies in designing systems, from designing a high-performance backend and cloud infrastructure all the way to building a pixel-perfect, responsive frontend.
I believe in choosing the right tool for the job, which for me is all about understanding the trade-offs. I'm just as comfortable designing a complex, decoupled architecture from the ground up as I am leveraging modern platforms to rapidly build, test, and ship a new application. This flexibility allows me to tackle problems with the best possible solution.
Beyond the code, I'm a dedicated lifelong learner. I achieved my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification to build a solid foundation in cloud computing, and I've also passed the JLPT N2 (Japanese Language Proficiency Test). I am excited to combine my technical skills with my passion for Japanese language and culture, and I am currently seeking a challenging software engineering role in Tokyo.

- •Played a pivotal role in the strategic migration of the core API from Express.js to Fastify, contributing to a 35% improvement in API response times and higher throughput.
- •Was a key contributor to the full migration of a 20,000-line JavaScript codebase to TypeScript, enhancing type-safety, improving developer experience, and catching 50+ potential bugs pre-production.
